Intro-

    C Em F G
    F G C G

        C Em
I wanna saddle my horse in darkness
         F G
and trot out in the morning dew
        C Em
I wanna breathe some air
                  F G
that’s never been breathed
            C Em
And I wanna drink the wine of freedom
              F G
and toast the good ones that we knew
        F G C G
I wanna count a million stars and think of you

            C Em
I wanna see one more hometown rodeo
           F G
where it’s hats off for the flag
       C Em F G
And we cheer the bucking horse and the wild ride
                C Em
I wanna shoot a hole in that TV set
            F G
and let the silence ring true
        F G C G
I wanna count a million stars and think of you

   C Em F G
So don’t tell me that the West is dead and gone
       C Em F G
'Cause my heart can’t stand to hear that sad, old song
            F G
Well you’re saying, "Honey, you’ve missed it all"
       C G Am
Here’s hoping that you’re wrong
   F G C G
So don’t tell me it’s dead and gone

            C Em
I wanna see one more Charlie Russell print
     F G
in a run-down café
     C Em F G
With old men and coffee, telling tales
            C Em
And I wanna ride out with a wagon
       F G
in the scent of the spring-time sage
        F G C G
I wanna feel the wind at my back on down the trail

C Em F G
C Em F G
F G C** G** Am** G**
F G C G*

          C Em
Well it’s suntanned, cowgirl cheeks
    F G
and long braids ‘neath a hat
         C Em F G
Hear the summer rain on the roof at a country dance
          C Em
And we’ll ride out our raging storms
          F G
until the light comes shining through
          F* G* C G
Then I’ll count a million stars and think of you

   C Em F G
So don’t tell me that the West is dead and gone
       C Em F G
'Cause my heart can’t stand to hear that sad, old song
            F G
Well you’re saying, "Girl, you’ve missed it all"
       C G Am
Here’s hoping that you’re wrong
   F G C** G** Am** G**
So don’t tell me it’s dead and gone

About LLG♥

I’m a wife, mother and self-taught guitarist.   I first picked up a guitar in 2010 and haven’t put it down since! I’m not that great of a player, but I get by.  Besides, my talent isn’t in the playing, it’s in the ears ;)

I first discovered I had an ear for transcribing music while playing tabs on Ultimate Guitar.  So many of them were just wrong!   I started making correct versions and it just grew from there.   I left UG having tabbed over 300 songs on that site.  (I was the #1 Daily Most Popular Contributor for over 2 years straight, now I’m down to #7.  Not bad since I haven’t posted a tab on UG in many years!)

In 2013  I created Live Love Guitar and amazingly enough, I’m still here!  I think users know they can count on correct, well formatted tabs.  I try to make my tabs as easy as possible while still being correct.  This makes a huge difference for new players!  I would have quit playing had I not learned the beauty of a capo and transposing :)  My capo is my best friend!!

Thanks for visiting and I hope I can keep up with all the song requests, keeping Live Love Guitar alive!  :)
